Edit: They just replied with a flat out lie, they DID withhold my prescription from me and the receptionist on the phone did tell me that I could not have it until I got my eyes dilated. She even tried to push me to come in today for it even AFTER I told her I wanted to opt out (for the hundredth time). Further shows that they have shady business practices and will now be filing an official report. Have a great day. ------------- They tried to force me to dilate my eyes during my annual exam even though I told them I wanted to opt out. During the appointment, I told them I'd like to opt out and they said it was necessary for the exam and I could either do the dilation or pay for a service out of pocket since it wasn't covered by my insurance. I politely told her I didn't want to do it multiple times, and since they weren't taking no for an answer, I told them I'd schedule it later (which is honestly really pushy and intimidating to begin with). As I was checking out, they would only give me my glasses prescription and said the reason was because "to make sure you like these trials". I thought was odd, as previous eye doctors give me both prescriptions even as I'm using trials. I let her know that I was running low on my current contacts, and she said just to call when I decide if I like them or not, and she would send my prescription to me right away via email and we could schedule the dilation later. Today, I called to let them know I like the contacts and asked if they could send the prescription, and was then called back and told that they were not able to send my prescription to me until I came into dilate my eyes... (Even if I were to opt into dilating my eyes, I didn't want to come back there anyway as I had a lot of off-putting things happen during my visit.) They proceeded to argue with me, I told them they can't force me to dilate my eyes and hold my prescription hostage, they said yes they can as it is apart of their annual exam. I have opted out in the past with different eye doctors and I've never had an issue. After a lot of research on dilating eyes and how it is NOT required for an annual exam, and that they cannot hold my prescription, I called them back and explained that and how I will be filing an official complaint. Then suddenly she says she'll talk with the doctor and then they sent me over a form to sign stating I don't want to dilate my eyes. Unbelievable. They should have had me sign that when I was there and explicitly said I WANTED TO OPT OUT multiple times. I am honestly in shock how I was treated here. I have never had so many issues over an annual exam, and trying to be forced to do something that I don't want to do. Not to mention, my main concern about my current contacts was how pricey they were (Acuvue Oasys 1 day), and I wanted a cheaper option. The doctor prescribed me Infuse which, unbeknownst to me, is a VERY similar price point. Just one thing after another with them.
